About Loomis Landing Campground
Loomis Landing Campground is a remote waterfront retreat in the heart of Manistee National Forest, a 40-minute drive from Manistee. The campground and marina sit on the 9,000-acre backwaters of Tippy Dam at the mouth of the Pine River, a nationally designated Wild and Scenic River.

The backwaters hold the Michigan state record walleye. That walleye weighed 17 pounds 3 ounces. Founder Dewey W. Loomis earned three Master Angler Awards from Field and Stream Magazine.
The surrounding Manistee National Forest supports four-season outdoor recreation. The forest provides access to fishing, hunting, and boating. The backwaters accommodate canoeing, kayaking, pontoon boating, and power boating.
